VR family tourism may be the next big thing in real estate.
The powerful features of VR and AR enable users to see where they have never been and to adjust or visualize things in the real world. So it's natural for the real estate industry, because buyers are eager to see the house before they buy it.
An online survey of more than 3,000 American adults by Coldwell Banker has found that americans are eager to experiment with virtual reality to see and visualize homes or property.
According to the survey results, virtual reality housing tourism is almost the same as traditional video travel, with 84 percent of people interested in family video and 77 percent interested in VR tourism.
Americans also say they are interested in using virtual reality or AR to visualize furniture at home so they can see if their existing suite is fit for their new place. Sixty-eight percent said it was helpful to have such a vision.
62% also said they were more likely to use a real estate agent to offer a virtual reality home tour that buyers could view on their computers or smartphones.
Americans and people around the world are embracing new technology. In the us, 32% of households own smart home products, up by a third over the previous year. Forty-two percent of americans are also interested in seeing how smart products can help or affect their families' sales.
Charlie Young, President and chief executive of Coldwell Banker Real Estate, thinks they are at the forefront of smart homes; "Our consumer survey results emphasize that real estate sales agents need the full industry smart home education. Coldwell Banker is at the forefront of this trend as the leader of smart homes in real estate. We are the first to provide smart home certification and define a smart home that will give our agents and agents a competitive advantage in a changing market.
